LASER INNOVATION FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Directed Energy Deposition

A single-stage process is performed. A powder stream or a metal wire is fused by means of a laser beam so to feed the fused pool, therefore two prototype processing station for DED are available: a powder-based station, equipped with a Trumpf TruDisk 4002 disk laser, 4 kW maximum power and a wire-based station, equipped with an IPG Yb YLS-10000 fibre laser, 10 kW maximum power. Manufacturing, repairing and overhaul of parts is possible. A wide range of metallic powders can be processed. Theoretically, no limits on the dimensions of the parts are in place.
